The May Centre

Day Centre For Adults With Disabilities

The May Centre is a day centre for disabled people.

The May Centre In Beccles is a registered charity and was built in 1982. It was the project that year of the Mayor of Beccles, who realised the need for a day centre specifically for adults with disabilities. With the support of the local council and the people of Beccles the money was raised to achieve his vision

Activities include an art class, indoor bowls, games, bingo, quizzes, outings to concerts and countryside. Transport is available with lift but must be pre-arranged. Provides and maintains a meeting place for physically disabled people of the area.

The May Centre bus is fully equipped with a lift and picks up members in the morning and returns them to their homes at the end of the day. There is also a car service for nearby villages. The Centre is entirely funded by donations, fund raising events, bequests and occasional grants for specific projects. Other groups meet regularly at the May Centre, please phone for details of how to hire out a room

The May Centre Beccles is always looking for volunteers so if you or someone you know would like to help in any way please get in touch via our contacts page.
